OVERVIEW

Here we offer our folding three-legged saddle seats, for your portable sitting needs.  These rugged seats promote good posture, and are surprisingly comfortable!  The seat tops pop off, and the legs fold up - easy to carry.

Our portable seats separate into two pieces - the leather top, and the oak legs. Leather should be curled with the rough flesh side within, and the finished surface out. (When leather is bent sharply in the other direction, it can develop creases, and the structure will weaken.) Seats that are designed to fold as one unit are made with leather thinner than our English Bridle hides, and are less robust.

Our saddle seat legs are made from 1-1/4" thick oak dowels from Tennessee. We sand them smooth, and then apply two coats of either light oak or darker walnut Danish oil. The legs swivel on a custom-welded, domestically sourced hardened steel tri-bolt. Please take care when setting up your seats; the rounded tips are meant for the seat pockets, and the feet are beveled to sit flat on the floor. Take a moment to note how NOT to set up these seats, as we want you to experience these seats properly used.

We use sturdy 10/12-ounce leather for the tops. These tops are available in six solid colors, and in a wide range of patterns. We have many ready to ship; you can also custom-order designs and colors to fit your taste.  Hand-stamped lettering can also be added, to make your seat an individual expression created just for you! Be sure to build in plenty of lead time for special orders, as they are indeed made by our hands to best interpret your requests.
